Winning Poker Network refunds affected players
The Winning Poker Network (WPN), which runs Americas Cardroom (ACR) and Black Chip Poker has refunded players affected by “unfair gameplay practices carried out by a player.”
This has been discovered and made public by Joe Ingram on his YouTube channel. According to a post on Reddit, WPN has sent out the following email to affected players:
Unfortunately, the email doesn’t state any details and doesn’t include the name of the banned accounts.
However we understand that the refunds have already taken place and the money was credited to the accounts of affected players.
Which players have been refunded?
Most of the affected players are micro and small stakes cash game PLO players.
Refunding players and banning potential bot and cheating accounts is definitely a step into the right direction.
It shows that WPN does care and that they are trying to tackle the issues in an appropriate manner.
The WPN security team has also send out the following email update:
“Our Security & Fraud Department is constantly monitoring game play and there are cases where refunds are triggered, there are cases where they are not. We also take player reports very seriously and again some might not involve a refund. If you have not received an email from our team then your account has not been affected by breach of Terms and Conditions.”
We urge our players to keep their eyes open!
We urge our players to keep their eyes open and consequently report suspicious behaviour to us or email WPN directly at gameintegrity@winningpokernetwork.com.
Furthermore, we highly recommend to follow future developments and check back regulary for updates on this case.
When it comes to our brand and advertizing Black Chip Poker and Americas Cardroom, we can not really comment on the situation as for now because we do not have any detailed information and clear evidence on what happened.
However, it’s unfortunately a matter of fact that bots are an issue on almost all poker networks nowadays and sadly the big and well known poker rooms are no exception here.
Needless to say we do not support this and force our affiliate partner rooms to take action when our players report such cases, but to be frank we are not really surprised that this happened on WPN (and still happening on other networks on a daily basis).
That said, we will post an update as soon as we gather more information and will try to keep our players updated in the best possible way!]
