The Winning Poker Network is introducing a raft of new anti poker bot measures to further protect the integrity of their games. The latest software update sees some changes, including Run It Twice, that will make the client the envy of the online poker world.
Randy ‘Nanonoko’ Lew Gets ACR Software Up to Scratch
Randy ‘Nanonoko’ Lew knows all about what decent online poker software needs. The American high stakes grinder made his name by multi-tabling up to 24 tables back in the day with incredible skill.
A big update over at @ACR_POKER in our stance to fight against bots and RTA. It is going to be very hard for them to continue. https://t.co/8wcp1KquJJ

After walking away from his deal with the much-maligned PokerStars, Nanonoko found a new home at Americas Card Room (ACR) where he promised CEO Phil Nagy that he would help get their software up to scratch.
In a new consulting role, he uses his experience as a long-time professional to instruct the programming team how to spot and avoid collusion and bot rings.

Nanonoko Explains How Poker Bot Users Are Finished
All of the details on the software update haven’t yet been released, for obvious reasons, but Nanonoko did give some insight into the biggest anti-cheating measure online poker has ever seen.
Most poker bot software, if not all, relies on being able to read the screen and understand where in the game tree each table is.
If the graphics change then the bot doesn’t work properly until it is adjusted.
Nanonoko tells us that WPN sites can now change the pixilation of the screen at will. This means any bot can only work for a few hands before being unable to read the screen. Automated bots are now finished!
This is a huge win for the poker community. Coupled with a new captcha system, the WPN network is going to be able to lead the industry on tackling the bot issue.
Nanonoko was a little cagey on the Captcha system, to avoid giving too much away to the bot programmers who will no doubt attempt to come up with counter measures.
A New Era of Anti-Cheating
It is also nice to see the popular Run It Twice feature being implemented. This ability to run out the board twice in all-in situations adds an extra degree of excitement on top of helping to avoid variance.
Think back a couple of years back when the WPN software was heavily criticised. So much hard work has been done to improve the client to an industry-leading standard.
The Winning Poker Network is ready to usher in a new era of anti-cheating measures. Hopefully, stories such as those about Fedor Kruse at the end of last year will never crop up again.
If the programmers can now keep ahead of the bot users and cheaters online poker has a bright future.
