Winning Poker Network CEO Phil Nagy has called for a poker summit of all online poker sites in order to fight collusion, poker bots and fraud.
It’s mostly been because of his fight against cheating bot accounts on online poker sites. An investigation started by famous poker YouTuber Joe Ingram resulted hundreds of thousands of dollars refunded to players and an army of bot accounts closed in early 2018.
This time, however, Nagy is in the news for something completely different.
Phil Nagy Invites Partypoker, GGPoker, PokerStars and RunItOnce to Poker Summit
A few days ago, Phil Nagy tweeted this message, directed at the Twitter accounts of major online poker rooms:
In today’s industry most poker players play multiple sites. It would be #Good4Poker to come together for a live event in a neutral location with equal commitments and sponsorships. What do you think about a poker summit @pokerstars @GGPokerOfficial @partypoker @RunItOncePoker
— Phillip Nagy (@WPN_CEO) February 9, 2020
In it, he calls for a bit of comradery in the competitive industry.
In the recent past, we’ve heard the same question raised over and over again in relation to multiple issues: is it good for poker? We’ve heard this debated regarding stalling in tournaments and shot clocks; spin & go’s, and – most recently – re-entry tournaments.
It seems from the wording of Nagy’s tweet that his hypothetical event would be looking to explore these questions. It’d be a really idealistic thing to see the world’s biggest online poker rooms working together to bring more people to the game of poker worldwide.
In a follow-up tweet, Phil Nagy specified a number of issues he wants to discuss with other online poker operators. These topics include fighting collusion, bots and player-to-player frauds.
Please anyone I missed is welcome that’s interested there are core commonalities all poker sites Fight Collusion,Bots,P2P fraud not to mention YouTube Mixer and who’s next not to have our content be part of something #good4poker

Moreover, in a somewhat confusing way, he also listed “YouTube Mixer” among the topics he wants to discuss. He may be talking about streaming poker content on platforms such as YouTube and Microsoft’s new streaming site Mixer.
Phil Nagy’s Criticism of PokerStars
However, to some, this invitation may seem a little dubious coming from Phil Nagy.
Just a few weeks ago, he heavily criticized PokerStars in public. He raised concerns about online poker giant’s new 24-hour late registration policy while shouting in a Twitter video.

Given the tone of that video message, some PS representatives may feel not entirely convinced about Nagy’s urge to come together.
The Reaction
So far Nagy’s call for unity on Twitter has garnered 77 likes and just 16 replies. The only official poker account of any of the mentioned poker rooms that responded was partypoker’s.

They tagged British casino owner and partypoker partner Rob Yong. Yong also has a habit of brainstorming ideas on Twitter on how to improve online poker.
As for the rest of the users responding, they seem to be supportive of the idea of a poker summit. A number of other issues poker, or more specifically WPN rooms, face was mentioned in the comments as well. Feel free to add your own ideas in the Twitter thread!
Nagy went on the use the hashtag “#GOOD4POKER” multiple times in the following days.
