Sean Winter and Andrew Lichtenberger Win Poker Masters Titles For Over $430K

Sean Winter and Andrew Lichtenberger have won the last two events at the Poker Masters for over $430,000 each. Winter is also on top of the leaderboard with only one more event left to play.

Andrew Lichtenberger was making his first-ever Poker Masters cash in Event #7: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em at the 2022 edition of the series and he certainly made it count. Lichtenberger finished atop the 69-entry field to win the $465,750 first-place prize.

The victory also gave Lichtenberger enough points to move to the top of the Poker Masters leaderboard, where he now sits with 279 points entering the final three events of the series.

The race for the Purple Jacket at the 2022 Poker Masters has a new frontrunner. With a $432,000 victory in Event #9: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em, Sean Winter now has 466 points and is atop the series leaderboard.

There is just one final event left to play out to determine, if Winter will be crowned 2022 Poker Masters champion, winning the Purple Jacket and $50,000 championship bonus.

Winter’s rise to the top of the leaderboard has come thanks to a late surge, similar to what allowed him to go on to win the 2022 U.S. Poker Open. Winter finished second in Event #7: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em for $345,000 and 207 points to get himself on the board.

Winter defeated Nick Schulman in heads-up play in Event #9, with Schulman improving to 361 points. Schulman is now second on the 2022 Poker Masters leaderboard with one event to go.
