Phil Galfond’s online poker site Run It Once Poker made the headlines this week as it was shut down globally. However, Galfond is not willing to give up just yet and instead plans to move the room exclusively to the US poker market.
Run It Once Poker Takes Aim at US Poker Market
Phil Galfond has explained in a recent blog post on Run it Once that website traffic of his online poker site has dwindled to pre-pandemic levels.
As a consequence, Run it Once Poker has shut down on January 3rd 2022 with players having the option to cash out their poker funds until April 3rd.
After that, Run It Once Poker will start focusing on the US poker market. Phil seems to already have a rough plan how to make that happen.
“The long-term plan is to enter every state”
Phil Galfond said in an interview:
“The long-term plan is to enter every state that we can get a license in, assuming it makes commercial sense. The different state requirements and regulatory hurdles mean that they’ll likely come at different times.”
Galfond said that he believes that Run It Once Poker is now ready to enter the U.S. market, but he didn’t wanted to name a fixed date for the launch.
