Poker players from all over the world visit Las Vegas in the summer to participate in the most prestigious live poker tournament series.
Not everybody will be a winner in the end, but being there and playing with the greatest players is something worth more than money.
Book your calendars because the $1,000 Mystery Millions kicks off on the 31st of May. With tournaments ranging from only $300 for the Gladiators of Poker through the Main Event and Super High Roller, WSOP has players of all levels covered.
“The Closer” will be the last event starting on July 14th. If you are a professional that wants to participate in the whole festival better book your stay now.
You can also qualify via online satellites at Americas Cardroom and may recreate the huge success of Chris Moneymaker!
Poker players in America are truly blessed to have the best live poker tournament series, so let’s have a look at number two!
2. The World Poker Tour (WPT)
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is running for more than 20 years! With its big prize pools, great atmosphere, and trophies it attracts the best players.
There is also a WPT Player of the Year leaderboard, which, if you win it, secures you a place in the Hall of Fame next to poker legends like Daniel Negreanu or Betrand “ElkY” Grospellier.
If you want to participate in this year’s events keep the following dates in mind:
From 19th March to the 4th of April the WPT will take place at Thunder Valley Casino Resort, Lincoln.
The next stop is the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown from the 13th of April to the 2nd of May.
If you are a fan of deep stack poker tournaments at affordable buy-ins, definitely check it out.
And if you love sunny California, there will be an event in Los Angeles. It is scheduled for the end of May in The Gardens Casino, the full schedule isn’t available yet though.
3. The Venetian Deepstack Showdown
As the name suggests this tournament series is played at The Venetian Casino in Vegas.
The tournaments have a lovely deep stack structure, which is great for the more experienced cash players and tournament pros.
Deep stack play gives a much bigger edge to good and professional players, but is also more complex.
I have seen even experienced tournament players make huge blunders there, as they are more used to 100 big blinds and smaller stacks.
The Venetian often organizes great deep stack tournaments. If you happen to be in Vegas definitely check their schedule, there are deep stack tourneys monthly and during the WSOP they have some great prize pools!
4. Wynn Millions Poker Series
The Wynn is another legendary casino and poker room in Vegas with great tournaments.
From 20th February until 19th March, you can participate in their Wynn Millions.
Buy-ins range from $400 to $10,500. The highlight of the program is the $3,500 Wynn Millions Championship with a $3,000,000 guarantee. Day 1A starts on the 3rd of March, you can also play at 1B/C on the 4th or 5th respectively.
There is another event that will have a guaranteed prize pool of more than $1,000,000. This is the $1,600 Mystery Bounty with starting days on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of February.
5. WSOP Circuit (WSOPC)
We started the article with the famous World Series of Poker (WSOP).
It is worth mentioning that throughout the year the WSOP circuit events are also running through different cities and states.
Currently, there are events in Florida and Vegas and there are many more to come in US states, taking place in US states where live poker is legal.
The Main events have a Million dollar prize pool and most probably if you are living in the US there will be one not far from where you are living.
In 2023 there are currently a whopping 173 official poker festivals announced in different parts of the country.
There are best US Poker tournaments 2023 for every bankroll, so it depends on your taste and location to create your best live poker schedule for the year.
It’s always better to prepare in advance. I like to get to each festival at least a few days earlier.
That way you can get comfortable with the casino, and get some reads on the local regulars at the cash games.
And who knows, maybe you will be the next WSOP Main event winner!
We wish you the best of luck for your US poker tournaments 2023!
